Zoom Lenses: The MPA4-4's zoom lenses eliminate the need for frequent lens changes, providing the ultimate in magnification ease and versatility. A zoom dial ensures quick, smooth zooming for reviewing and printing at optimum magnification. Choose from four zoom lenses: 7.5x, 9x -16x, 13x -27x and 23 - 50x lens kit.
250-Sheet Paper Cassette: Conveniently located at the front of the unit for maximum ease of refilling, the paper cassette holds up to 250 sheets of A4 plain paper, reducing the need to frequently stop printing in order to refill the cassette.
Automatic Frame Masking: The optional automatic frame masking unit allows the operator to make prints of only selected portions of an image or eliminate heavy black borders for a more professional-looking print.
Automatic Bi-modal Printing: Add the optional bi-modal printing unit, and the MPA4-4 can automatically produce positive copies from both negative and positive microfilm images.
Automatic Exposure Control: Minolta's automatic exposure control system assures consistently excellent copies from every type of film, even those with varying densities. Manual adjustment over a wide exposure range is also possible for handling films with special requirements.
Roll Film Carrier 21: The Minolta RC 21 Roll Film Carrier makes it more productive than ever to view a variety of microfilms. Unlike other film carriers, which require user adjustment when switching between ANSI and M-Type films, the RC 21 detects the cartridge type and adjusts automatically. The versatile Minolta RC 21 provides high-speed automatic loading, feeding, and rewinding for ANSI, M-Type, and EK cartridge films. And with the optional Open Reel Adapter Kit, you can view 16mm open reel film.
Universal Carrier 2: Designed to simplify the handling of microform, the UC-2 Universal Carrier accepts both 16/35mm open reel films and microfiche with equal ease. There's no need to manually set up the take-up reel -- simply insert the reel, feed the leader and press the Load button; the UC-2 does the rest automatically. And switching from 16mm to 35mm is as easy as the touch of a single sliding lever. The UC-2 will even lead you step by step through any procedure you wish to use. Best of all, this ease of use costs nothing in terms of performance. The UC-2 comes equipped with everything you need for fast, efficient, accurate film searching and viewing, including speeds for viewing, browsing, and searching films. The UC-2's Automatic Film End Detection function senses the end of a roll film and automatically reduces the winding speed to prevent film damage. An optional four-digit odometer is also available for more efficient searching.
Roll Film Carriers 15A and 15M: The RC-15A/M roll film carriers provide completely automatic, high-speed motorized loading and rewinding of 16mm ANSI (RC-15A) or M-type (RC-15M) cartridges. Searching, retrieval, printing, and rewinding are all performed using the compact remote control unit. A vertical scanning control permits highly precise positioning of duplex images.
Universal Carriers 5 and 5M: The UC-5 and UC-5M are economical and versatile film transporters. These roll carriers are designed to work with Minolta's leading line of universal plain-paper readers/printers.
Combining the functionality of a fiche carrier and a roll carrier, the UC-5 and UC-5M provide film transportation for a variety of microforms. Truly versatile, both support 16mm and 35mm open reel film, microfiche, aperture cards, and jackets. With an optional adapter, 3M type cartridges can also be supported.
UC-5M has a motorized film transport that provides variable speed motor driven control. This permits film searching and rewind at variable speeds, making it quick and simple to locate desired frames. The UC-5, a manually operated universal carrier, provides an economical alternative for all of your microform needs. The fiche component on both carriers permits viewing of microfiche, jackets, and aperture cards. The upper glass opens automatically for insertion of these microforms when the handle is pulled out.
Roll Film Carrier 9B: The RC-9B roll film carrier lets you view either 16mm or 35mm open reel film without having to change carriers. The RC-9B offers semi-automatic film loading, fully automatic rewinding, automatic end-of-film sensing, full-function remote control, vertical scanning control, high-speed retrieval, and variable speed film scanning. An optional 4-digit odometer is available for films without blip marks.
Roll Film Carrier 11: The RC11 accommodates a variety of roll microfilm formats including 16mm and 35mm open reels, and M-type cartridges. In addition, the RC11 easily interchanges with the other carriers for universal applications needing both roll and flat film formats.
The RC11 offers roll format users an unsurpassed selection of useful features. A variable motor drive control permits numerous film speeds in either the forward or reverse direction. Automatic film gate operation prevents film scratching during high-speed transport.
The compact RC11 mounts easily. When changing from one format to another, operators simply slide the carrier into place and connect a single cable. The unit is then ready for use. Film threading is fast and easy. The RC11was designed for user-friendly operation, even for beginners.
Fiche Carrier 5: The FC-5 microfiche film carrier permits viewing of microfiche, jackets, and aperture cards. The upper glass opens automatically when the carrier is pulled out for insertion of these microforms.
The MARS Controller 4: The Minolta MARS Controller 4 is a powerful tool that increases the speed and efficiency of the MPA4-4's search, retrieval, and printing functions. An automatic, programmable control unit, the MARS Controller 4 offers an array of sophisticated functions that includes rapid paging, reverse-direction search and retrieval, 3-level search and retrieval (Block, Batch, Item), and reading of image management code. A variety of copying modes permits printing of a specific frame or an entire block or batch, a single frame in a series of batches, or from any item to any other item, and even continuous printing. Frames can also be printing while browsing, and the pause at each frame can be set between 1 and 9 seconds per frame.
Moreover, a built-in RS-232C interface allows the MARS Controller 4 to be connected to various computers for downloading search and printing commands -- either one at a time for immediate execution, or several at a time for later execution.
The MARS Mini Controller 2: The MARS Mini 2 is currently compatible with the Roll Film Carriers RFC 15A/15M and the RFC 21. With this compatibility, a full range of Minolta readers/printers can easily be interfaced with the MARS Mini 2, for quick retrieval of microfilmed information.
With the roll film carriers using off-gate blip detection, the MARS Mini Controller 2 supports dual level retrieval for A Channel searching. In addition, the MARS Mini Controller 2 has an odometer retrieval mode to aid in the retrieval of non-blipped film. A standard RS232C computer interface is incorporated for plug and play access to Computer Assisted Retrieval systems. It also has a 256 byte on-line memory enabling memory functions to be incorporated in the frame retrieval process.
